Competitive Teams

ChalkBox Gymnastics is the only gymnastics program in the area which participates in the High School preparatory league, the Colorado Gymnastics League. This is a family friendly competitive league which is designed to ready gymnasts for participation at the highest level of High School Competition. Through participation in this league gymnasts develop the skills necessary to become highly successful throughout. ChalkBox competes in all levels from beginning compulsory to the highest Optional level. Students are placed on team through coach evaluation.

Our philosophy revolves around individual self improvement rather than the collection of awards. We believe a happy gymnast is not bored or consistently frustrated, but rather, challenged and consistently striving for the next skill. The awards and accolades then fall into place.

Our vision is to continue this legacy of excellence for future generations of Elizabeth and Ponderosa High School Gymnastics teams by offering an environment and a culture that breeds confidence, kindness, and humble champions at ChalkBox. We are very blessed to have the trust and the support of our families, school, and community. We will continue to strive to provide positive life experiences for our local youth.

EHS Gymnastics Team

Elizabeth High School is the third smallest high school in Colorado to offer a Gymnastics Team and is also one of the most successful in state history. The team originated in 2006 and has since captured 8 State Championships. ChalkBox is home to the Elizabeth Cardinals as their official practice facility, and the team is comprised of mainly ChalkBox athletes. Stacey Folmar (owner of ChalkBox) and Val Koppinger (head coach at ChalkBox) are the coaches for the EHS team and have been doing so since the team’s beginning.

The ChalkBox Gymnastics program prepares girls to one day excel as high school gymnasts. Many Ponderosa High School Varsity and JV Gymnastics team members have grown up here at ChalkBox as well and continue to train in their off-season once at the high school level.

Gymnastics is most definitely not a seasonal sport. Colorado Gymnastics League is governed by the National Federation of High School Gymnastics Rules and Regulations. By competing in the Colorado Gymnastics League from May-July, gymnasts come into high school prepared to compete very successfully at that level.
